Build & Analyse
From strategy idea to payoff in seconds
Choose a strategy, set the strikes and expiries, and see exactly where it makes and loses money. The free version works from the prices you enter; Pro fills them in from live option chains.
-
Payoff diagram and strategy builder
Build any single or multi-leg position, or start from one of 44 templates: covered calls, verticals, straddles, strangles, iron condors, butterflies and more. The payoff curve shows the P&L at expiry and today, with breakevens, maximum profit and maximum loss marked.
-
Greeks and chance of profit
Key metrics show the position’s delta, gamma, theta, vega and rho, its reward-to-risk and the move needed to break even, plus a chance-of-profit estimate from implied volatility. A P&L table shows what the trade is worth by price and date before expiry. Our guide to option breakeven and the Greeks explains which Greek is costing you money.
-
Black-Scholes pricing you can adjust
Fair-value estimates use the Black-Scholes model with your own interest rate, dividend yield and volatility settings, so you can see how a price changes when your assumptions do.
-
Compare two strategies
Put two setups on the same chart and compare maximum profit, maximum loss and breakevens side by side, for example a long call against a call spread on the same view.
How It Works
Analysing a trade in four steps
A payoff diagram at expiry is only half the picture. Most option trades are closed before expiry, so OptionsDesk shows what the position is worth along the way, and what changes that value.
Pick the underlying
Enter the underlying’s price yourself, or with Pro search a ticker to load its price and option chain with implied volatility for each strike.
Build the position
Choose a template or add legs yourself: buy or sell, call or put, strike, expiry and quantity. Each leg is priced as you add it.
Read the risk
Check the breakevens, maximum loss and chance of profit, then the Greeks, to see which of price, time or volatility the trade depends on most.
Stress it
Move the date forward, shift implied volatility or compare a second structure, and see whether the trade still makes sense before you place it with your broker.
OptionsDesk Pro
Model the trade before it models you
-
Live option chains and Greek tables
Search any ticker to load its price and option chain from Yahoo Finance instead of typing prices in. The P&L table adds contract value, percent of max risk and each Greek across prices and dates, and a strike map lets you drag legs to new strikes.
-
Simulator
Run a multi-leg position through changes in volatility, interest rates and time, with the aggregate Greeks updating as you go. Scrub forward to see how time decay erodes the position day by day.
-
Portfolio
Track your whole options book in one place, with P&L, position totals and scenario curves showing how the portfolio behaves if the underlying or volatility moves.
-
Future Price probabilities
Estimate the chance of the underlying reaching up to three target prices by expiry, with the probability curve drawn from current implied volatility.
-
Earnings and vol crush
Scan upcoming earnings with vol-crush edge scores and see how implied volatility has typically collapsed after past announcements. Read implied volatility crush for why a correct earnings call can still lose.

Frequently asked questions
Is OptionsDesk free?
Yes. OptionsDesk is free to download on the Mac App Store, the App Store and Google Play, and the free version includes the strategy builder, templates, payoff diagram, Greeks, chance of profit, the P&L table and Compare, using prices you enter. OptionsDesk Pro adds live option chains, Greek tables across prices and dates, the Simulator, Portfolio, Future Price probabilities and the Earnings scanner for US$5.99 a month or US$59.99 a year.
What devices does OptionsDesk run on?
Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, and Android 8.0 or later. The Mac and iPhone/iPad apps are separate App Store listings, and Android is on Google Play.
Where does OptionsDesk get its option prices?
In OptionsDesk Pro, quotes and option chains come from Yahoo Finance and may be delayed; the free version uses prices you enter. Theoretical values, Greeks and probabilities are calculated in the app with the Black-Scholes model, using your own interest rate, dividend yield and volatility settings.
Can OptionsDesk place trades?
No. OptionsDesk is an analysis tool. It does not connect to a broker, never asks for your brokerage login, and does not place orders. Use it to model a trade, then place it with your broker.
How is chance of profit calculated?
It estimates the probability that the strategy is profitable at expiry, using the current implied volatility and a lognormal price model. It is a model estimate, not a forecast, and it does not account for early assignment or changes in volatility.
Is OptionsDesk an alternative to OptionStrat?
It covers similar ground: strategy building, payoff diagrams, Greeks and probability of profit. The difference is that OptionsDesk is a native app for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android rather than a website, and adds portfolio tracking and an earnings vol-crush scanner in Pro.
Is OptionsDesk financial advice?
No. OptionsDesk is an analytical and educational tool. Model prices and probabilities are estimates, and you are responsible for your own trading decisions.
Shape the strategy.
OptionsDesk is an analytical and educational tool, not financial advice. Model prices, Greeks and probabilities are estimates from the Black-Scholes model and current implied volatility, not predictions. Options carry a high risk of loss, and multi-leg strategies can lose more than expected if legs are assigned or exercised early. Support: optionsdeskapp.pro/support.
