Welcome aboard

You're set up with CashDesk.

Lumpy income, deductions scattered across a year of statements, and a tax bill you find out about too late. CashDesk turns that into one set of numbers you can actually trust. Start here.

Your first ten minutes

Step 1 is required before anything else unlocks — it tells CashDesk which tax rules apply to you.

1

Complete onboarding

Choose your jurisdiction, your line of work and your financial year. CashDesk uses these to pick the right tax treatment, the right deduction categories and the right dates — so nothing else works properly until this is done.

Required
2

Import your statements

Drop in bank, card and broker statements as PDF or CSV. CashDesk reads the transactions out of them directly — there is no manual entry, and it handles the multi-column and prose-heavy layouts most parsers choke on.

3

Review and categorise

Work through the Review queue and confirm or correct how each transaction was classified. CashDesk learns from your corrections, so the first pass is the slow one and every import after it is faster.

4

Watch your reserve

The Budget view shows what came in, what is genuinely spendable and what should be held back against tax. For anyone on irregular income this is the number that prevents the nasty surprise.

5

Prepare your return

CashDesk assembles your figures into the actual boxes of your jurisdiction's return and hands you a screen-by-screen transfer sheet for the tax portal. You review every figure and you lodge it yourself — CashDesk never files on your behalf.

If you get stuck

Everything below is a real human or a real guide — not a chatbot.

CashDesk is bookkeeping, budgeting and tax-preparation software. It prepares figures and paperwork for you to review and lodge yourself — it does not lodge on your behalf, and it is not tax, accounting or financial advice. Rates and thresholds change; check your own figures, and consult a registered tax practitioner for advice on your situation.
